Thus far in my life, I’ve been lucky to have some really fantastic girlfriends with really fantastic mothers. Such is the case with my friend Caroline and her mom, Sharon. “You have to meet my my mom.” she kept telling me when we first met. “You guys are made of the same chintz fabric.” And she was right. Some of my best memories in Los Angeles are of hanging out with those two at Sharon’s ridiculously beautiful Hollywood Hills home. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed harder in my life!
Sharon will periodically text me photos of things that she knows I’ll love (like her Miles Redd-signed copy of The Big Book of Chic). Most recently, she sent me the above images of a chair which she had just reupholstered for a client. The chintz is from “Sharon’s Bazaar” - this is what we call her garage because it’s crammed full of amazing antiques and fabrics - and the gingham was previously a plastic fleece tablecloth. I mean, Sharon’s amazing. If you live in Los Angeles, have an infatuation with Dorothy Draper and Sister Parish and need decorating advice, there isn't anyone better. Love you, Sharon! :)
