Today, I’m lusting for a set of Stella McCartney’s “Flowers of the Week” silk + cotton panties. When I was a little girl, I used to love wearing “Days of the Week” panties (though I never seemed to wear the right pair on the right day). It'd be so fun to wear this pretty version for adults :)

meet kate schelter.

Kate Schelter’s Gramercy Park apartment is exactly what I want my home to look like when I grow up. The Vogue-photographer-turned-image-consultant posed for Natalie Joos’ blog, Tales of Endearment, way back in January - the photos are to-die-for. Much like myself, Ms. Schelter takes pride in the paper memorabilia that she’s saved through the years. Her hallway is line with inspiration boards covered in place cards from various events, notes from Anna Wintour and magazine tears, among other things. She’s also a vintage book, clothing + art fiend and has amassed quite the collection of amazing objects. Ms. Schelter is getting married this summer and will subsequently be moving into an apartment with her husband. Though I adore this space, I can’t wait to see what she does with her new digs!

the fashion questionnaire

After ordering a slew of fashion + design books from Amazon (scans to come later!), I stumbled across Assouline’s The Fashion Questionnaire. The publishing house asked the likes of Carolina Herrera, Alber Elbaz, Lagerfeld and Valentino to take a stab at the Proust questionnaire - their answers are compiled into this volume. I promised myself that I wouldn’t buy any more books for a few months... it’s taking everything I’ve got not to purchase this gem. Christmas, where are you when I need you?!

Dorthe Alstrup

Are these photos by Dorthe Alstrup not the most beautiful images you've ever seen?! I ran across them on 20X200, an affordable online super-gallery run by Jen Bekman. Jen best described Ms. Alstrup's series in a conversation with a friend published in her newsletter:

Deardorff: I love when photographer fills space with objects.
Jen: I think they're really beautiful and they remind me of a lot of things.
Deardorff: They are.
Jen: The balloons look like champagne to me, and you know how I love champagne.
Deardorff: They remind me of overwhelming childhood memories. Like looking at your past but with filters.
Jen: Yes, like being a kid at grownup parties, even though balloons are kid partyish. i was thinking about falling asleep in someone's guest room on top of a pile of coats.
Deardorff: fur coats, mmmmmmmm

Though I’ve never fallen asleep on a pile of fur coats, I imagine the experience to be just as lovely as these photos :)
