vera neumann for target!

I was so excited to see that one of my favorite purveyors of vintage scarves, Vera, recently launched une petite capsule collection for Target! I love how the new scarves remain true to the line’s signature retro look made popular by the company’s late founder, Vera Neumann. Ms. Neumann counted Grace Kelly and Marilyn Monroe as fans, and Kate Spade herself raves about them in her book on style (in all serious, you need to own this set). I’ve already ordered the watermelon print (SO cute!) and am considering the granny apple green ladybug print (I think it would look fantastic tied around my neck + paired with Nars’ matte lipstick in "Funny Face"). Do you love as much as I do?!

"When I wear a silk scarf I feel so definitely like a woman, a beautiful woman."

-Audrey Hepburn

Kevin Sharkey, a top creative at Martha Stewart, has one of the best blogs around. The man is particularly near and dear to my heart because he will occasionally scan images from books (both new and vintage) for his site. The silk confections above are from Nicky Albrechtsen and Fola Solanke new book, Scarves, published only a few months ago. Mr. Sharkey wrote about the book earlier today in hopes that the age-old accessory (which, he says, looks just as good hung above a mantel as it does on one’s head), would make a comeback. I’m with him 100%. Because, at least in my book, scarves = instant chic :)

dreaming of asprey

I've been getting very into scarves lately, and these three styles at Asprey had me drooling. I think a girl ought to have at least one heirloom-worthy silk scarf in her wardrobe, don't you? For now I'm more than happy with my little collection of vintage veras, but that doesn't mean I'll stop dreaming :)
