"I don't mind to look older. I don't have this urge that so many people have that they've always got to look young all
their lives. I think you should be the age you are and enjoy it... But if you want to have it, go ahead and have it,
but take a good look before you do because, just maybe, you look absolutely beautiful the way you are."

the chicest cat lady around

Growing up, I was terrified of cats. In recent years, though, I’ve had a total change of heart! It certainly seems like they’re the busy fashionista’s animal of choice, don’t you think? Grace Coddington, the industry’s chicest cat lady, actually published a book of feline sketches a few years ago. Like Ms. Coddington herself, The Catwalk Cats is both heartfelt + hilarious (not to mention, terribly fashion forward). It’s currently at the top of my Amazon wish list (although I'd love to find a signed copy...). Do you have cats?

karen elson as grace coddington

Do you remember the August 2008 Vogue editorial of Karen Elson made up as Grace Coddington? It was for their “Age” issue-- it’s one of my favorite spreads of all time. If you have yet to see these lovely photos, never fear! Fashion Gone Rogue uploaded the entire editorial onto their website. Because I am a magazine hoarder, I was able to pull this very issue of Vogue from my archives and scan the text that accompanied these images. In it, Grace Coddington calls her firery-red hair “...the best accessory that I could ever have.” Don’t you just love that?! It’s also important to note that those funny little cats were sketched by Ms. Coddington herself. She is seriously my hero :)

new york dolls

I’m absolutley gaga for these rag doll replicas of Anna Wintour and Grace Coddington! Aren’t they great? Barneys New York commissioned Brooklyn artist Andrew Yang to create them in celebration of Fashion’s Night Out. They’re part of the artist’s Kouklitas line of fashion dolls (be sure to check out some of his work— it's seriously amazing). The Anna and Grace dolls feature hand-painted faces and couture-worthy outfits. Oh, and in case you were wondering, the Anna doll comes complete with removable sunglasses. These pieces are currently up for auction on CharityBuzz.com – I so wish I could bid!

j. crew collection for net-a-porter.com

Yesterday, J. Crew announced that they have teamed up with Net-A-Porter.com to go international. "Net-a-Porter will carry select items from J. Crew's collection along with exclusive styles and colours made especially for the site," writes a fabsugar.com report. Exclusive styles and colors?! If it turns out to be anything like their Spring 2010 collection, I'll be in heaven. I'm loving this season's muted, feminine palette.
P.S. -- speaking of Grace Coddington, does anyone else think that the collection's spring lookbook looks almost as if she could have styled it? Jenna Lyons is just that good!
