The styling in this Chanel film is so spot-on! It also doesn't hurt that I'm a watch person (you can see what I wear everyday here :). Before you press "play", you may want to whip out a pen and paper to take notes - this little promo definitely got my wheels spinning. My favorite prop were those adorable helmets... I think Colette sells them and I think I should have one. Anywho, enjoy! x   

the scent of a woman

Exactly seven months and eight days ago, I professed my new-found love for Chanel's Allure. I thought for certain that I'd found my signature scent. But then, something strange happened: my boyfriend was not a fan. Now, I'm not the type of girl to change myself at the whim of a significant other. I happen to like it, and I'll wear it until I don't. However, it would be wonderful to find an additional something that would make Chanel's famous one-liner (“A woman should wear perfume wherever she wants to be kissed.”) ring true. 

My aunt once swore that she used to wear a D&G perfume, now discontinued, that drove men absolutely wild. I wonder... have you ever worn a scent to a similar effect? Aside from your daily fragrance, do you have a "date night" scent?

want of the day

Today’s “want of the day” is uncharacteristically tangible :) Chanel’s Allure has been my mother’s signature fragrance for years. I tried it while I was home for Christmas and totally fell in love. It’s so yummy and wears quite well (though isn’t it funny how much a scent can change depending on the wearer?). I rarely wear perfume, so this purchase will be a big step for me! Out of curiosity, what was your first perfume? Mine was YSL's Babydoll - I bought it in France when I was in my early teens (mainly because I liked the hot pink packagaing). Excited to hear your answers! x

I love this impromptu photoshoot by the very talented Terry Richardson with the cast of Gossip Girl. How darling are Blake Lively and Leighton Meester?! The photos were taken at a private dinner held by Mr. Lagerfeld to celebrate the launch of Chanel’s SoHo boutique. I discovered them on Mr. Richardson’s absorbing personal tumblr (on which he frequently uploads pics of his glamourous escapades). Don’t you love? I want Blake Lively’s hair :)

If I were decorating a home on a limitless budget, I’m fairly certain that I would find a place to hang a magnificent bespoke Chanel silk scarf chandelier like this one by Susan Fellman. Wouldn’t it be perfect in a dressing room? I can totally see someone like Kim Kardashian going nuts over this (I love her). Sans chandalier, the scarf itself is gorgeous! I'm a sucker for decadent jewel prints :)
