simon doonan + liberty of london

Last night, my boyfriend met Simon Doonan of Barney's New York at this year's awards ceremony for Chicago Social magazine's Men of Style. The funny thing is that he had no idea whom he had just met. He called me on his way home from the event to tell me about his night, and mentioned that he chatted about Liberty of London with a sharply-dressed man named Simon. When I put the two and two together (Event at Barney's New York in Chicago + sharply-dressed man named Simon), I freaked out. Simon Doonan is my idol!
Simon said that all of his favorite shirts are custom-made by Liberty of London (as you can see in the photo above, he was wearing one of them last night). So after my boyfriend and I got off the phone, I went straight to the company's websites to take a peak at their fabrics. Oh my lord! It's everything I could ever dream of and more. I know that Liberty just launched an outrageously successful line for Target, but is it crazy that I would prefer one custom-made piece to what is available at the discount retailer? Just thinking of the dresses, skirts, duvet covers and cushions that could be made from these fabrics made me want to get to work! Oh, how I wish I knew how to sew.

Also, did I mention that my delusional daydream included a loveseat upholstered in the fabric below from the line luxe textile company Osborne & Little did for Liberty? Which, of course, I would pair with tiger-print pillows like the ones found in Charlotte Moss' aspen home. Do I need to get a grip on reality, or what?!
