"somewhere" debuts at the venice film festival

Sofia Coppola’s “Somewhere” debuted at the Venice Film Festival earlier today to fantastic reviews. In an article about the Italian-American director’s time in Italy (where she is somewhat of a national hero), David Gritten of the Telegraph notes, “Press conferences [held by directors]… can be laced with hostility, but two Italian journalists, instead of asking questions, simply gushed at Sofia Coppola about how the film had moved them. ‘You have showed us how empty is our contemporary society,’ said one, apparently close to sobbing with gratitude.” Oh my, I can’t wait ‘til this film premieres Stateside!
The above is a photo of Ms. Coppola at a photocall in Venice. How adorable is she? The suede bag she’s holding is, of course, a part of her recent collection for Louis Vuitton. If I am one-tenth as chic + cool as this woman when I am 39, I will be happy :)
