my big fat irish family
03.16.2010
These photos of my family were taken at the Kansas City St. Patrick’s Day Parade in 1982 (before I was born!). I just love old photographs like these, especially when they’re of people I know and love. Can you tell we’re irish?!

So so adorable! Love those little red heads! xx
You have the Irish-American poster family! How fun :)

I love the look of old pictures! These are so cute! Happy Saint Patty's Day!
your family does look irish...but it could be all the green that gives it away. one thing that intrigues me, why do the irish hang on to their heredity so much? i know many people of very distant irish descent, i mean several generations back, and then perhaps only one, who slavishly embrace st pat's day. yet they were born HERE, their parents were born here, their grandparents born here. but they never let go. it makes me sick. i feel like saying YOU ARE NOT IRISH. but they would not understand. perhaps that is the irish coming through after all.
I love it! My mom and little brother are red heads! We're very Irish as well : ) What fantastic photos... Happy St. Paddy's Fallon! XOXO
Did she? Did Suzanne accept? Don't leave us hanging.
Toad-- she did accept! Suzanne and Joe are still happily married today :) They're very good friends of my grandparents and simply wonderful people.
Denise-- I'm not really sure why that is! I wish I could have a better answer for you.. maybe it's just more fun for them than anything. and maybe it is the Irish coming through.. the Irish are notoriously stubborn, after all!
Fallon... these are awesome! What great family photos to have!
These pics are the best I've seen to celebrate St. Patty's Day. What a cute bundle of redheads!
