happy valentine's day!
02.14.2011
When I was little, my mom would send Valentine’s Day cards to friends and family instead of Christmas cards. I laughed out loud when I read that Julia Child did the same. In My Life in France, Child said,“Valentine cards had become a tradition of ours, born of the fact that we could never get ourselves organized in time to send out Christmas cards.” With four young children, I think my mom was very much in the same boat! This card was taken in 1998 - I was ten, my brother Jimmy was eight, Sean was six, and Danielle was four. Aren’t those sweatshirts cute (for 1998, that is)? My mom cut the hearts and letters out of felt and glued them on. So sweet :)
I was quite the artist...

CUTE!! I would totally do this now as an adult.
This is so cute I can't even comment on it! Happy V Day! xoxoo
This reminds me of how happy I truly was when my son and daughter were this age!! They are a wonderful 24 and 27 year old young woman and young Marine...and they remind me of how joyful their childhood was...they say I always found fun things to celebrate every holiday...but Valentine's Day was sooo special!!
Love it! My aunt sends out 4th of July cards and I love the Valentine's idea just as much! Hope you had a great day celebrating!
What an adorable Valentine! I'm the same way-I never send out Christmas cards, but my nearest and dearest always get Valentines!
SHUT THE FRONT DOOR - my mom sent out Valentine's Day cards instead of Christmas cards every year, too!!! Geez, stylish KC moms really think alike, huh? This card is adorable - those sweatshirts are killing me and I hope you mom saved them so that you can dress you four little kids in them some day.. You plan on having 4 right? Haha, just kidding, this really is precious though...
I hope you had a fantastic V-Day!!!
