fleur cowles: bright young things london

Fleur Cowles is one of my role models. Can you imagine my delight last night when I rediscovered her lovely home profile in my old copy of Bright Young Things London? Ms. Cowles wrote the forward for the book—I think it’s brilliant that Brooke De Ocampo chose to anchor her livre with the icon, as well (a symbol that Fleur has passed on the torch to the next generation of British movers and shakers..). I dream of some day getting my hands on an issue of Flair.. I think I’m going to ask for one for Christmas. I know that all issues of the short-lived magazine are fabulous, but I’d love to ask you, dear readers, if there is one issue in particular that stands out. Because if anyone would know, it’s you stylish women! xx

I don't have any actual issues (though I ALWAYS have my eye out for them), but I do have the 1953 Flair Annual which Fleur put out after the magazine folded in response to the thousands of letters she received from devastated readers. It's worn and smells of dust and is so very lovely : )

xx Katie
