carla lane interiors

It's so inspirational to read about designers who began their career in a field other than interior design but eventually followed their hearts to find enormous success. Carla Lane is one of those designers. Originally a columnist for the likes of Angeleno and W Magazine, Ms. Lane opened Carla Lane Interiors in 2007. She's launching her own line of eco-and-kid-friendly products later this year- a quick glance at her portfolio tells you that it's going to be amazing! Here are a few photos from her website. Check the rest out here (she's so talented!).

On a side note, I had total déjà vu when I saw the tufted headboard above. Last night, I stumbled across it's sister in Tori Mellott's apartment via this article in The New York Times about custom-made furniture. Love!

What a talent she is! Love her fresh, fun approach. And Tori's couch...to die for. As is the headboard. I'd take either in a heartbeat. Sigh.

to all-- thank you for your comments! I'm glad you liked Carla. I just love that her work looks like it came straight from the pages of Domino! so fun.
