“Oh, how I regret not having worn a bikini for the entire year I was twenty-six.
If anyone young is reading this, go, right this minute, put on a bikini,
and don’t take it off until you’re thirty-four.”

chez poppy de villeneuve

When I stumbled across Poppy de Villeneuve's fabulous Brooklyn apartment this morning, I knew that I had to make some time during my lunch break to blog it out. I'm a bit surprised by how much I love this apartment as I'm usually not the biggest fan of wood details... perhaps it's because she makes them seem wonderfully feminine. I love that she admiditly went without a kitchen table for eight months until she found the perfect one (my kind of girl). On a side note, I'm totally naming my future daughter Poppy. It's a done deal :)

emma block's style icons

Illustrator Emma Block's new style icon prints are out of this world divine! The anglophile in me really wants to have the Queen Elizabeth rendition, but I can't decide if it's too "little girl" for a grown-up apartment. (Part of me doesn't care :). I have no doubt that the entire series would look cute in children's bedroom... What do you think?

(p.s. how cute is Emma?!)

in the studio of olympia le tan

Olympia Tan is one of those designers who just gets me. A epic love of books and fashion? Sounds familiar! Of course, her office strikes a pleasing chord (you can never go wrong with bookshelves and inspiration walls). Her dangling earring reminds me of something that might make an appearance in a Johannes Vermeer piece - I like very much :)

Would you choose to invest in one of Olympia's designs?

mary mcdonald + diana vreeland

I love a good window display, particualry when it brings together two of my favorite personalities: interior designer Mary McDonald + former Vogue editor Diana Vreeland. Ms. McDonald created this scene - an interpretation of Vreeland's famous New York salon - for last year's Legends of La Cienega weekend in West Hollywood. I so wish I could have seen in in person! I'm loving her quirky questionnaire anwers (and my, what nice handwriting she has). Happy Thursday, lovies :)
